The
Beginnings
Pac Nor Westy was founded in 2017 by Rich Murphy. He started designing his own tees when he couldn't find ones that captured the essence of his PNW adventures. He also discovered a lot of seemingly "nature loving" clothing brands were selling apparel that was anything but eco-friendly or ethically sourced.
In 2019, Rich leased a 400 square foot historic cabin in La Conner, WA and put his designs out into the world. He took inspiration from the coast, the mountains, and everything in between.
THE STORY SINCE 2019
Since opening our first store in 2019, Pac Nor Westy has expanded our focus to include designs rooted in outdoor exploration and adventure. We seek to capture the essence of living the Northwest. We have continued our commitment to eco-friendly and ethically-produced goods as well as supporting other small artisans and makers. We love bringing themes of nature together in creative ways to celebrate an authentic, adventurous life.
In late 2023, Rich dialed back Pac Nor Westy operations to take care of his ailing mom out of state. We closed our La Conner store and workshop in early 2024. After the death of his mom, Rich and Scott sought out a new adventure and headed to Bend, OR. An amazing space was available at Bend's vibrant Box Factory, and the rest of the story is still being written.
TEAM PNW
Our small, family-run business has deep respect for the outdoors and humanity. Every item we create or curate is a reflection of our values: crafted with care, made to last, and meant to feel personal.
Rich Murphy: Our founder and creative director wears 10+ hats and works hard to bring creative, inspiring goods to our community.
Scott Dean: Rich's partner in life is also his partner in business. Scott ensures operations run smoothly and spends much of his time manning the storefront.
Jess Creason: Our niece is the vision behind our social outreach. She is a creative through and through and works hard to bring PNW inspiration to life.

Dr. Leo Marvin
Leo has been our shop dog since the beginning. He made the move to Bend this year with his mom, Jess. He's a 10 year old boxer and recently got a new set of wheels to help him roam around the Bend store. You can catch him on his Instagram @leomarvintheboxer or TikTok @leomarvinboxer

our Community
Our community is made up of people who feel most alive with dirt under their boots and stories in their hearts. Some sneak away for a midweek hike to clear their minds; others plan weekend escapes into the woods with friends and a campfire. They all share a reverence for nature, the magic of shared experiences, and the quiet rituals that ground us.
Our customers care about what they wear and where it comes from. They value craft, sustainability, and supporting independent brands with purpose. Whether they’re wrapped in a soft hoodie after a long day outdoors or lighting a candle that brings back a memory, they choose goods that are intentional, ethical, and full of soul.
The PNW Ethos
Some of the ways we strive to ensure Pac Nor Westy reflects our commitment to nature and small businesses include:
Ethical Manufacturing: We source from vendors committed to ethical manufacturing practices. We are committed to putting human rights ahead of profit. Our clothing is produced in WRAP certified facilities.
Environmental Responsibility: Our apparel is produced using eco-conscious production practices. Our manufacturing partners use production methods that conserve water and limit pollutants from entering the environment.
Small-batch Artisans: We work with other small-batch artisans who handcraft unique goods that reflect our brand mission. We love a good story about a small business owner turning dreams into reality. That's why we go out of our way to support other small businesses.
