Pac Nor Westy was founded in 2017. We started designing our own tees after having trouble finding ones that captured the essence of our Pacific Northwest adventures. We were also disappointed to find a number of seemingly "nature loving" brands were selling clothing that was anything but eco-friendly or ethically sourced.
Since our start in 2017, Pac Nor Westy has expanded to include designs rooted in outdoor exploration and adventure while increasing our commitment to using eco-friendly and made in the USA materials in our goods. We love bringing themes of nature together in creative ways to celebrate an authentic, adventurous life. Our team gets out into nature whenever we get a free moment - it's how we continue to be inspired.
Who are our people? They are lovers of the Pacific Northwest. They're weekend explorers who aren't afraid to sneak in a hike on a weekday afternoon. They're explorers of the land, sea, and sky. They're stewards of the earth and lovers of nature. They thrive on the adrenaline of adventure. Outdoor adventures may not happen every day, but it doesn't stop their dreaming and wanderlust.
Some of the ways we strive to ensure our brand reflects our commitment to nature and small businesses include:
• Ethical Manufacturing: We source from vendors committed to ethical manufacturing practices. We are committed to putting human rights ahead of profit.
• Made in the USA: We strive to source products made in the USA whenever possible. Made in the USA products are designated on their respective product page.
• Environmental Responsibility: When available, we use organic cotton and recycled/upcycled materials in our apparel. Eco-friendly goods are designated on their respective product page.
• Water-based Inks: We screen print our goods with water-based inks, which are more eco-friendly than petroleum-based inks.
• Small-batch Artisans: We seek artisans who handcraft goods in small batches. It's our way of supporting other small businesses.
Rich has a passion for all things Pacific Northwest. Although his roots are Southern, he made the move to the Pacific Northwest over a decade ago and hasn't looked back. After a 20+ year career as a professional geographer, Rich decided it was time to bring his passions for graphic design, comfortable clothing, small batch makers, and the PNW together into what is now Pac Nor Westy.
Jessi keeps everything organized and running smoothly at our warehouse. She ensures that orders get out to our customers in a timely fashion and that our flagship store stays stocked with products from our brand and our makers. Having grown up near Lake Tahoe, Jessi has a passion for exploring the outdoors. She fits right in here in the Pacific Northwest and loves getting out to explore.
Scott steps in and does the things that no one else has time (or desire) to do. He keeps our operations running smoothly and our warehouse stocked. Scott loves to cook (he's a trained chef). He also enjoys building furniture (he built almost all of Pac Nor Westy's store fixtures!). He also enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest and getting out in his kayak whenever the weather cooperates.
Matt works in our La Conner, WA flagship store. He loves telling customers about our makers and has a great depth of knowledge to share. When he isn't working the storefront, Matt loves reading a good book with a cup of coffee at one of our many great coffee shops here in La Conner.
Call him Leo when he's moody, Marvin when he's a saint. In any case, he will likely greet you at our flagship store on the weekends. Leo loves to nap, people watch, and run the zoomies on the beach. He may be the only dog in the world who does not like human food. You can follow him on instagram @leomarvintheboxer
