Care Tips for Your Threads
Loosely knit on vintage machines for the softness of a well-worn favorite, our garments require a bit of extra care to maintain their coziness. Below are some care tips that will keep your garments lasting a long time and looking their best.
Garment Care Tips
WASH LESS (WHEN YOU CAN)
If it’s spot-free and smelling fresh, skip the wash and hang it up. Washing less is just as good for your clothes as it is for our planet.
ALWAYS WASH COLD
When it’s time to take them for a spin, set the wash temp to cold and be sure to wash your items inside-out. It’s the best way to keep that amazing softness going wash after wash.
Heat from the dryer can really take the life out of your faves. Try to get into the habit of air drying, old-school style. If you must dry, be sure to do so on a low temp on a gentle cycle.
WATCH FOR PILLING
With any item that is soft and cozy, pilling can occur. The soft, recycled poly fibers have a tendency to shed, especially in the first few wears of your garment. It gets better with time, we promise!
Friction is the number one culprit of pilling. Be sure to launder inside-out to help. Also, a pilling shaver is a great investment to keep not only our garments, but all of your other cozy sweaters, looking their best.
